The form posts to this site and is turned straight into an email. Nothing is stored, there is no third-party form service, and no account is created — which is the same promise the rest of the product makes. The privacy policy says what happens to it.
Common questions
- Can I download it yet?
- Not yet. Longtom is in development and there is nothing to install today. Anything offering you a download, a release date or a price is not us.
- What does it cost?
- US$99 a year, or $12 a month. It is free until 100 days after your first booked income, so a business that has not earned anything has not paid anything. What the subscription buys is your country staying current — the rates, thresholds, filing dates and forms, corrected as they change.
- What happens if I stop paying?
- You keep everything: your books, invoices, filings, tickets and documents, forever. Nothing is locked, held back or held hostage. What stops is the new work — the corrections, the bookkeeping, the triage — not the records you already have.
- Can you see my books?
- No. Longtom runs on your computer and there is no server holding your data. There is no account, no telemetry and no usage counting — we cannot tell whether you ever opened it. That is not a policy we could change quietly; there is nowhere for the data to go.
- Do I need an AI subscription?
- For part of it, yes, and it is one you probably already pay for. Longtom drives the coding CLI on your own machine — Claude Code, Codex, Cursor, Antigravity, Gemini, OpenCode, Aider or a command you name yourself — under your own plan. The setup steps, the deadlines and the country knowledge need no AI at all; reading a pile of documents or drafting a reply does.
- Does it lodge my tax return?
- No, and it never will. Longtom prepares a return in your authority's own labels and shows which ledger lines every figure came from. You lodge it yourself, at your authority's own portal, under your own identity. It also never registers anything, creates an account or pays anything.
- Which countries does it know?
- Seventy-seven, each one researched against its own authority rather than generated — what the consumption tax is called and its rate, the registration threshold, what the return is called and when it is really due, and which authority issues what. Every profile carries the date it was last checked. A country we do not know properly is not offered, which is a different thing from not existing.
- Can I get my data out?
- Yes, and it was designed to be easy rather than technically possible. The ledger exports OFX, the records pack is one zip an accountant can open, and everything lives in one folder you can copy. Leaving is a feature: if you outgrow this, the door is unlocked from the inside.
- What does it run on?
- Windows 10 version 1809 or later, and Windows 11.
- Something looks wrong in my country's data.
- Tell us, and say which page you saw it on. Every country fact is checked against a primary source on a rolling pass, but a wrong number that nobody reports can sit there looking exactly like a right one — a threshold was wrong for years once, and nothing about it looked odd.
